Magheramorne Estate is a family business built on a shared passion for food and excellence in hospitality.
Jane Allen is simply passionate about food. As a natural cook, she has always been at home in the kitchen. Her intuitive palate and strong connection with quality, locally-produced ingredients ensure her food is always in demand.
In 1988, this increasing demand from friends, neighbours, and family convinced Jane to pursue her love of cooking as a career, so she launched Jane’s Kitchen.
With talent and commitment, Jane has turned a business she literally started on her kitchen table in Clougher, County Antrim, into one of the most respected purveyors of food in Northern Ireland.
More than three decades later, Jane credits her long-term success to attention to detail and the personal touch.
This magnificent historic estate combines everything she deeply appreciates, including the opportunity to work with her family to provide indulgent hospitality and exceptional food.
Her experience, confidence and genuine warmth create a comforting home-from-home experience for every guest.
While food may be the star of the show at Magheramorne Estate, there’s much more to hospitality than what’s on the menu.
When it comes to ensuring guests enjoy the complete experience, there is an art to efficient and friendly service. That is where Katherine excels.
Jane’s daughter Katherine grew up in the hospitality industry, and she is passionate about how food is planned and served.
An expert in event planning, logistics and training, Katherine studied Business Management with Events and Marketing at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
Then she worked for By Word Of Mouth, a hugely successful, London-based catering company.
She is responsible for development, creative planning and staff training on the estate. Her logistical expertise brings all these elements and more together to make the Magheramorne a relaxing and inspiring place to visit or stay.
Sara Allen grew up learning all her core kitchen skills from her mum. She also inherited Jane’s passion for quality, excellence and sustainability, and she brings this love and knowledge to her dishes.
After studying International Hospitality and Tourism Management at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Sara continued her training by completing a 12-week course at the world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School in Winter 2018.
This intensive course in advanced cooking techniques and international cuisine equipped Sara with impressive skills and sensitive insight in planning and realising exceptional dishes.
While seasonal cooking is at the heart of her dishes, Sara is also a very talented baker. Her breads and cakes are the perfect accompaniment to her fresh, modern Irish menus.
Sara now heads up the Food and Beverage Team at both Magheramorne Estate and Jane’s Kitchen, building upon her mother’s strong foundations of knowledge and expertise.
