The Reunion: David Park and Brian McGilloway in conversation

Saturday 21 March @ 4pm £15

When Brian McGilloway was a student and aspiring writer, he set up a book festival and, in a bold move, invited his favourite author to attend.

He was delighted that David Park agreed and they chatted about the joys of writing and books.

Fast forward and Brian McGilloway is now a Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author, and one of the most original voices in Irish crime fiction. Alongside his novels, Brian has worked as a screenwriter on the BBC television series Hope Street. His latest thriller, The One You Least Suspect, was published in May 2025.

David Park is regarded as one of Ireland’s finest contemporary writers. The author of eleven novels, two short story collections and a novella, his work has received numerous awards and critical acclaim. He has also been a Visiting Fellow at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s University Belfast. His latest novel, Ghost Wedding, is a poignant and deeply moving exploration of love, loss and regret.

In this special event entitled “The Reunion”, Brian and David will chat about what inspires them as authors, their writing careers, and their new books.

This event offers a rare opportunity to hear two award-winning local writers in an intimate and unique setting.
