Nicola Sturgeon served as First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party from 2014 to 2023. She was Deputy First Minister from 2007 and has been a member of the Scottish Parliament since its establishment in 1999. One of the most recognisable figures in Scottish and British politics, she played a central role in the SNP’s rise to power and was a key voice during the Brexit debate and the Covid pandemic.
Her recently published memoir, Frankly, has been described as “captivating” and “riveting”, offering a candid and insightful account of both her political career and personal life.

Nicola Sturgeon will be in conversation with journalist and author Stephen Walker, who covered Northern Ireland politics for over three decades as a BBC correspondent. An author of five books, his acclaimed biographies include David Trimble: Peacemaker (2025) and John Hume: The Persuader (2023), widely regarded as the definitive account of the former SDLP leader.
This is a not-to-be-missed event for anyone interested in contemporary politics, current affairs, and the realities of decision-making at the very highest level of Scottish and British public life.
