In July, Victoria & Stephen celebrated their wedding at Magheramorne Estate, enjoying a day with their loved ones that was full of laughter, food and flavour.
From the outset, the couple knew exactly what they wanted. Victoria commented, “Magheramorne Estate worked with us every step of the way to pull off our dream wedding – the perfect relaxed, informal day. ‘Just like a big house party’ was what we requested and what they delivered perfectly.”
The couple opted to have close family and friends arrive the evening before the wedding, allowing time to chat and unwind. “The team produced the most delicious evening buffet for our night before dinner, with a variety of options to choose from to ensure all our guests were well fed,” said Victoria of the evening. Our Drawing Rooms provided the perfect intimate setting to catch-up, before everyone retired for a good night’s sleep in our sumptuous bedrooms.
As the morning dawned, the Estate burst into life with the hustle and bustle of the Magheramorne team, the wedding party and suppliers making preparations for the very special day ahead. “There was the most beautiful buffet breakfast which our guests raved about and the most delicious snacks were delivered to the dressing room for the bridal party and suppliers,” Victoria said.
With guests arriving to the Estate, the temperatures soared and our formal gardens came to life with the sound of happy chatter and birdsong. In an emotional and heartfelt ceremony, the couple exchanged their vows, before the celebrations started in spectacular style!
As guests moved from the gardens to our terrace, a vibrant Mediterranean grazing station was served. Cured meats, rustic breads, tapenade, olives, crudités and cheeses were warmly welcomed by all, and were accompanied by an iconic cocktail tower. Victoria and Stephen selected brambles and mojitos to refresh their friends as they enjoyed the stunning scenery and a catch-up.
As day turned to evening, guests were ushered to the Ballroom where nearby a feast was being prepared. Opting for long table dining, Victoria and Stephen wanted a wedding meal that would gather everyone together for a communal experience and opted for a summer barbecue. Like all food at Magheramorne, the experience was elevated by the Jane’s Kitchen team, using the freshest local ingredients and new twists on old favourites. With a choice of chicken, sizzling steaks, handmade burgers and locally crafted sausages, guests were served by our expert team on the Ballroom Terrace. A colourful salad bar captured the essence of summer and Edith, our trusty red vintage truck, was transformed into a burger station with all that guests needed to craft the ultimate burger.
With the wedding reception underway, the celebration moved seamlessly from dining to indulgence. Our candlelit Drawing Rooms beckoned guests to choose between sweet and savoury favourites – no easy task, with the arrival of our decadent dessert bar and famous Irish cheese grazing plank!
“It was a showstopper our guests are still talking about,” Victoria commented. “Beautifully laid out for our guests to peruse and graze from during the evening, it was the ‘pièce de résistance’ of a day of magnificent food.”
Guests requiring a pick-me-up were also able to enjoy a classic espresso martini, giving them the lift they needed to head straight for the dancefloor and celebrate long into the night, pausing only for another helping of cheese!
Victoria & Stephen’s wedding was joyful, personal and unforgettable, with every detail of the day designed to give their guests a delicious experience in the sunshine.
“When we booked Magheramorne, and through talking with Jane, Catherine, Sara and Ruth, we told them food and drink was always our biggest priority,” said Victoria, “With so many weddings we have been to, we don’t remember the food, but our guests have raved about the food and casual atmosphere since. We will never forget it. Thank you to Jane and the whole team.”
And thank you to Victoria and Stephen for trusting us to make your vision a reality!
