We understand that every wedding is different and couples have particular requirements to make their big day memorable for every guest. Here are the responses to questions most frequently asked by couples considering booking Magheramorne Estate for their wedding.
However, if the answer you are looking for is not covered here, please contact us to discuss your needs, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
How long can I provisionally hold a date?
We want to ensure you can secure the venue of your dreams for your wedding so we will happily reserve a provisional date for 5 days.
If we don’t hear from you in 5 days, unfortunately, the date will be released and made available for hire again. Magheramorne Estate’s exclusive wedding packages are very much in demand. If we are contacted by another guest keen to book the date you are considering, a member of our team will contact you to discuss your plans.
How many guests can you accommodate in the day and the evening?
Our beautiful, period Ballroom can comfortably accommodate up to 180 seated guests. We can also configure different areas of the house and gardens to create a more intimate and relaxed feeling to suit your guests’ needs.
Do you have a recommended suppliers list?
So that we can be sure you enjoy a great experience in every aspect of your wedding, we only work with (and recommend), those we consider the best in their field. We will happily forward a copy of our recommended suppliers list on confirmation of your booking. We can discuss and advise if you have a specific request not included in this list.
Do you have bridal and guest accommodation on the estate?
Magheramorne Estate offers 35 beautifully-appointed and individually-designed double ensuite guest rooms situated across the main house and converted historic stable block.
Many of our rooms retain beautiful Victorian period features and stunning views across the lough and landscape.
Our elegant and indulgent bridal suite overlooks the formal gardens and ceremony setting.
With romantic views over the lough, a decadent freestanding roll top bath and cool, blue colour tones, our bridal suite is sophisticated but homely.
Can we have a private space for dressing ahead of our ceremony?
This is one of the most important moments of your special day. Hence, we provide a relaxing oasis of calm in our magnificent bridal dressing room where you can prepare to look your best.
What is the cost of menu tasting?
Before the big day arrives, you may be keen to sample the delicious food Jane’s Kitchen will lay on for your guests and discuss options. A private two-hour dining experience is available Monday- Thursday, between noon and 5pm in the Reading Room at Magheramorne Estate. This provides an opportunity to discuss your thoughts and ideas, so our team can create your dream menu.
A private tasting experience includes the choice of two starters, two main courses and a selection of desserts with tea/ coffee. We charge a nominal fee of £150 for two people for this exclusive experience. Additional guests are welcome at £75pp.
Can I bring my own candles?
We want you to have everything you want and need to make your big day perfect. We understand that candles can add a beautifully romantic touch to the ceremony. Yes, of course, you can bring them to Magheramorne Estate, but we respectfully ask that safely use them.
Can I have fireworks on the estate?
Magheramorne’s events management team can only approve the use of the estate as a venue for your silent fireworks display. It is important to emphasize that we strictly permit silent fireworks only, without exception. By law in Northern Ireland, you require a licence to buy, have or use silent fireworks in any location. Please note it will take a minimum of six weeks to process an application. We recommend you consult with a reputable licensed local firework company with experience in such events for advice if you want to have silent fireworks on your special day. The professionals can then co-ordinate with us to ensure it runs smoothly with all appropriate paperwork in place.
What is the changeover plan from ceremony to reception room?
Smooth as silk! You don’t need to worry about your wedding day’s choreography. Our well-trained team will discretely manage your guests to ensure they are happy and comfortable at all times. For example, if your ceremony is taking place in our gardens when your guests arrive at the house, everything will already be in place in the Ballroom for dinner. Suppose you are getting married in our exquisite Ballroom. In that case, your guests will be invited to relax in the Conservatory, Reading Room, Library or Drawing Room. At the same time, we will set up for the evening reception.
Is the venue licensed for civil ceremonies?
We are delighted to be licensed for civil ceremonies because we can experience the joy of hosting the entire wedding from start to finish. Our guests benefit from this service because on arrival they can relax and enjoy the event without having to worry about travelling between venues and accommodation.
Who will be our point of contact when planning our wedding?
Magheramorne Estate is as individual as you are, so we will appoint a dedicated event planner to attend to your every need and make your special day a complete joy to organise. For peace of mind and consistency, an event coordinator along with another senior member of our waiting staff will be your main point of contact during your wedding day.
Do you have disabled access?
Magheramorne Estate has full disability access, with a disabled bathroom for the function space. A disabled access bedroom for an overnight stay is also available with a large bathroom. If you have any specific access requests, please get in touch with the team, and we will endeavour to meet your needs.
Are children welcome at estate weddings?
We welcome every member of your party – regardless of age. We offer delightful children’s menus and even a playroom and quiet space when they need some time out from the adults. As our grounds extend over 40 acres. We respectfully request your little ones are supervised at all times by their parents or a responsible adult to ensure their safety and enjoyment of the day.
Is there enough parking for all our guests?
The private nature of the estate means there is ample parking for up to 100 cars with easy and safe access to the house and gardens.
Is Magheramorne Estate dog-friendly?
We love dogs, and they are welcome on the estate accompanied by their responsible owners. In fact, Magheramorne has two canine ambassadors called Olive and Fig. They are also very much loved members of our family, so we know how important it is to include them in significant life events. The estate is a beautiful, safe environment for your dog with acres of walking trails to enjoy. When booking, speak to your wedding coordinator about bringing your beloved pet, and we will make sure your loyal companion enjoys your special day as much as your human guests.
