Some couples dream of a grand celebration with hundreds of guests, while others long for something smaller, more personal, and deeply connected. At Magheramorne Estate, our intimate weddings offer just that; a chance to celebrate with your nearest and dearest in a setting that feels like home, if home were a Victorian mansion surrounded by 42 acres of private gardens and woodlands.
Our Library and Drawing Room are the heart of these special days, making the perfect backdrop for weddings of up to 60 guests. The spaces are warm and welcoming, creating an atmosphere of togetherness that feels like the ultimate house party.
In March, we welcomed Hollie and Ben along with 40 of their closest family and friends. Their day was the perfect example of how an intimate wedding at Magheramorne can flow seamlessly from one space to the next.
The morning began in our bridal dressing room, where Hollie prepared with her bridal party. Flooded with natural light, with multiple dressing tables and soft seating areas, the dressing room was a comfortable space to enjoy a peaceful morning and prepare for the day ahead.
Their ceremony was held in the Drawing Room, a space filled with period character and charm. With views of our formal gardens, sunlight flooded the room as the happy couple exchanged vows.
After the vows, guests spilled into the Conservatory, Hallway, and Lounge to enjoy a sparkling reception of prosecco, Guinness, and delicious canapés including chilli, coriander, and crab crostini, forest mushroom arancini with aioli, and summer vegetable tempura with Asian dipping oil
Music by the Arco String Quartet added a timeless elegance, while Hollie’s speech on the staircase in the grand hallway gave the celebration a personal, heartfelt touch.
As evening arrived, the Drawing Room and Library Bar were opened up and dressed long-table style for a shared dining experience. The menu, created by Jane’s Kitchen, featured seasonal Irish ingredients and was designed to be elegant as well as comforting. Starting with Co. Antrim potato soup with chorizo crumb and parsley pesto, the wedding guests moved on to slow-cooked Irish daube of beef with red wine jus, mash, charred onion, wild garlic greens and buttered carrots. The grand finale as a trio of the couple’s favourite desserts which included a salted caramel and milk chocolate éclair, Italian tiramisu, and honeycomb ice-cream in a brandy snap basket.
As laughter filled the room, the long tables created a sense of family togetherness and welcomed conversation by candlelight.
Once dinner was complete, The Outlaws took to the stage and guests danced the night away with a lively ceilidh. Later, our midnight whiskey and Baileys trolley made its entrance, paired with late-night favourites: chicken goujons and chips, and truffle parmesan fries.
Each of the guests stayed overnight in the estate’s 35 bedrooms, ensuring that no one had to leave early and the celebration truly felt like a house party. Guests woke up the next morning to a freshly prepared estate breakfast, rounding off a relaxed and joyful gathering.
An intimate wedding at Magheramorne Estate is about more than numbers. It’s about atmosphere. Every detail can feel personal and every moment meaningful. Couples and families tell us it feels like gathering at a home – only this home happens to be a grand Victorian mansion.
With the entire estate to yourselves, seasonal dining from Jane’s Kitchen, and 42 acres of gardens and woodland as your backdrop, it’s an opportunity to slow down, connect, and celebrate. And your Very Important Pups are invited too!
